Debbie Hemmingson, owner of three Cold Stone Creamery locations, and lung cancer survivor Anne Lynn kick off National Ice Cream Month in July with a featured flavor “Anne’s Booty Creation” to raise money for Anne’s Pool Crew team for the Seventh Annual 24 Hours of Booty (July 25-26) event in Myers Park.
CHARLOTTE - During National Ice Cream Month in July, 24 Hours of Booty, Inc. All proceeds from the sale of “Anne’s Booty Creation” named in honor of Anne Lynn, who is a lung cancer survivor and team captain of Anne’s Pool Crew, one of the top fundraising teams for 24 Hours of Booty will be donated to Anne’s team for the Seventh Annual 24 Hours of Booty.
The featured flavor includes vanilla bean ice cream mixed with raspberries, graham cracker pie crust and whipped topping. Participating Cold Stone Creamery locations include: the Blakeney location at 9820 Rea Road (corner of Ardrey Kell and Rea), the University location at Cochran Commons at 2700 W. Mallard Creek Church Road (corner of Mallard Creek and Mallard Creek Church Road), and the Uptown location at the new Epicenter. Half of all the proceeds of the Cold Stone Creamery's Grand Opening Day of the Epicenter will go to the Anne’s Pool Crew team.
“We appreciate Cold Stone Creamery’s continued support of our mission to fight cancer and of lung cancer survivor Anne Lynn,” said Patti Weiss, executive director of 24 Hours of Booty, Inc. “It is such an honor to have a flavor named on behalf one of our most inspirational participants, and that also pays tribute to the 24 Hours of Booty name.”
“We want to continue making a difference through Anne’s journey with cancer, so we are excited to offer ‘Anne’s Booty Creation’ for the second year now,” said Debbie Hemmingsen, owner of the three Cold Stone Creamery locations participating in this cause, and a personal friend of Anne. “We have met so many wonderful people who are dedicated to doing their part to fighting this terrible disease and we are so fortunate to be able contribute through our business.”
