2009 24 Hours of Booty - Charlotte, NC

Join me in my extraordinary journey!

I will be participating in 24 Hours of Booty, a fundraising event for national and local cancer initiatives. 24 Hours of Booty is The Official 24 Hour Cycling Event of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. 24 Hours of Booty is proud to support the Lance Armstrong Foundation as its national recipient. The LAF believes that in the battle with cancer, unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. Founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist, Lance Armstrong, the LAF provides the practical information and tools people living with cancer need to live strong.

I have supported this event for the past 2 years and last year was my first time going to cheer on my "yellow jersey winner" and her team.  It was such a moving experience to read all the names on the back of the cyclist jersey's for who they were riding for that I decided to talk to my mother about this event and found out that cancer is a big part of my family's medical history.  Because of this event it has raised my awareness and desire to challege myself and you in helping me raise money and awareness in fighting this disease.
